Leicester’s finest, Kasabian, have officially shifted into high gear for the 2026 season. Following their chart-topping dance collaboration with Calvin Harris, ‘Release The Pressure,’ the band has unleashed their latest sonic firework, ‘Great Pretender.’ The track serves as the second glimpse into their highly anticipated ninth studio album, Act III, set for global release on July 17th.
The Anthem of the "Imposter"
Written by Serge Pizzorno and co-produced with Mark Ralph, ‘Great Pretender’ is a euphoric, psyche-infused anthem tailored for the massive festival stages the band will call home this summer. Far from a standard indie-rock track, Serge describes the single as an exploration of the psychological tightrope artists walk before a performance.
“‘Great Pretender’ is about imposter syndrome not as a weakness, but as a sign you’re on the edge of something real,” Serge explains. “It’s that feeling right before you step on stage, when the lights go down and it’s now or never.”
A Legacy of Number Ones
Recorded at "The Sergery" and "Club Ralph," Act III arrives as Kasabian looks to extend one of the most impressive streaks in British music history—their last seven albums have all debuted at #1 on the UK Official Album Chart. The new record features 10 guitar-driven tracks and three interludes, draped in Serge’s signature hazy vocals and a healthy dose of modern swagger.
A Massive Summer Awaits
Fans won't have to wait long to see the new material live. Kasabian is set to make a special guest appearance on the brand-new Saturday Night Live UK on Sky One this Saturday, April 4th.
The televised appearance is a mere warm-up for their massive headline celebration at Finsbury Park on July 4th. The show, which is already 95% sold out, features a stellar support lineup including Razorlight, Miles Kane, and The K’s. Following London, the band will dominate the festival circuit with headline slots at TRNSMT, Boardmasters, and Spain’s Mad Cool Festival.
‘Great Pretender’ is available to stream now. Act III lands July 17th.
